The Truth from his knowledgable back ground with Games and developement. Thats what he does for a living. He didn't lie in his interview. If he did. Show me where and show me facts backing and proving he lied. It all makes sense to me. Not because I like the 360 but because its all logical and he goes into detail on why. Can't beat that. I'll take that over a Sony Fanboys made up numbers and comparissons anyday. lol

"yea 360 is much better, because Microsoft's Matt Lee, Xbox 360 developer top gun said so.

I never said that. I only quote what the Pro's say in regards to the system comparissons. Developers, ect.... Matt Lee and others have to be held accountable for anything they say. They aren't fanboys hiding behind a computer screen. They are public figures who are respected in their field of choice. Thats why you won't hear any ps3 developers flat out say the ps3 is better for ga...

I think porting from Xbox 360 to PS3 will be reasonably difficult, since the Xbox 360 has a lot more general purpose processing power that can be flexibly reallocated, and all of the Xbox 360 CPU cores have equal access to all memory. The asymmetric nature of the Cell could easily lead to situations where the game has too little of one type of processing power and too much of another. And the content might suffer as well, since you'll never see a PS3 title with more than 256MB of textures at ...

Not kidding. I'm dead serious. Matt Lee is speaking out on what he knows better than most. He is well respected in the developement community. He has to be held accountable for anything he says. And the interview was conducted by a nuetral site. Very informative indeed. He isn't saying the ps3 sucks. lol...He is stating facts and backing his facts with his superior knowledge of game developement. Its not his fault that sony made the choices they made with their next gen system. Blame...

Jin...You are only hearing what you want to hear dude. There is a difference in Peak Power and Game performance. The ps3 can crunch more numbers according to most. But the 360 can deliver better game performance due to the resourses being allocated more effeciantly for games. Ram, Memory, ect. And then you have the software tools. So Carmack said the ps3 has Slightly more system Peak power. But the 360 has better game performance. Do you really not get it? Can someone else help Jin w...

I gave the links to my posts. And NO, its not a Microsoft site. lol.... Denial is what you and Gametime share. Plain and simple Denial. Its too sad to be funny anymore.

The ps3 pushes more total numbers....but numbers don't equate into real game performance. Sony knew this. They know that sony fans will buy anything they put out. So why not push a lot of numbers, which give sony fans the impression of power, then throw in our formatt to help boost blu ray sales. lol.... Please tell me yall know this. Its common knowledge.

Jin....How many times do we have to go over this? 360 fans are gamers. We are interested in games. We want news on all games. We check the 360 side FIRST. Then we come to the ps3 side to see whats new. You see, no body has a ps3. We are just like you in the aspect of we might get one eventually. So its our right to check on it as a prosepective buyer. The site is called News4gamers. So us as gamers have to the right to check up on ALL games. Not just the console we own. Get it? G...

Ars Technica: The Xenon CPU is an interesting architecture. What made Microsoft decide to go with a triple-core, rather than the more traditional dual or quad-core designs? Was it a yield issue?

Matt Lee: The specific design of the Xbox 360 CPU came out of predictions about the expected workload of the CPU and also the performance trends in the CPU industry. Advances in single core performance slowed down recently, and further performance improvements in that area typically com...

Exactly...so ps3 owners get HD movies but barely a tad better than xbox 1 graphics. No Thanks, I'll pass. Men are visual. We want eye candy. Don't give me and upgrade nvidia card from the old xbox and a cheaply made blu ray player and tell me its a next gen gaming console. Yeah right. lol...lol

What do you think of the PS3's Cell architecture? How much harder is it for developers to write asymmetric multiprocessing code that will run on the PPE and the SPE's? How difficult will it be to port code that is tuned for the Cell over to the 360 while maintaining good performance? Do you think Sony made the architecture complex deliberately to make porting that way harder, or were they just trying to get maximum performance out of their system?

I don't think the Cell is as well ...

The PS3 has 22.4 GB/s of GDDR3 bandwidth and 25.6 GB/s of RDRAM bandwidth for a total system bandwidth of 48 GB/s.

The Xbox 360 has 22.4 GB/s of GDDR3 bandwidth and a 256 GB/s of EDRAM bandwidth for a total of 278.4 GB/s total system bandwidth.

Why does the Xbox 360 have such an extreme amount of bandwidth? Even the simplest calculations show that a large amount of bandwidth is consumed by the frame buffer. For example, with simple color rendering and Z testing at 55...

When you break down the numbers, Xbox 360 has provably more performance than PS3. Keep in mind that Sony has a track record of over promising and under delivering on technical performance. The truth is that both systems pack a lot of power for high definition games and entertainment.

However, hardware performance, while important, is only a third of the puzzle. Xbox 360 is a fusion of hardware, software and services. Without the software and services to power it, even the most...

There are three critical performance aspects of a console:

Central Processing Unit (CPU) performance.

The Xbox 360 CPU architecture has three times the general purpose processing power of the Cell.

Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) performance

The Xbox 360 GPU design is more flexible and it has more processing power than the PS3 GPU.

Memory System Bandwidth

The memory system bandwidth in Xbox 360 exceeds th...

See, now you are going to far Jin. Prey is a PC port that recieved a 9.0 OUTSTANDING review. And in the comparisson it out performed a low end and middle end computer and it was a tad less detailed than the high end pc using the 7900 graphics card which cost 500 to 600 dollars. lol.... And the developers of Prey said "due to lack of texture ram and memory access, Prey couldn't be done properly on the ps3". So even though a cutting edge computer has a slight edge with a Port to t...

Exactly...MS has its core fan base on LOCK. Everyone who liked the xbox....loves the 360. But what MS is doing is trying to snatch up some of Sony's fan base that they left behind with the 600 dollar pricing. Wii won't get too many of the sony fan base because its a little kid name with little kid games. Once a kid gets to double digits...10 and up they want to be all grown up and cool. With the 360 they can be cool and their parents can manage 300 for a premium when the price drops. Or...

For Microsoft to launch world wide, two sku's, and a year ahead of competition and offer a hd dvd add on. I can only imagine what their next move is. Fact of the matter is. We have the 360 NOW. So we are good as gamers. Our 360 games with a smaller base is outselling the pc port counterparts. Ps3 fans are worried. Will it work? Will the games be good? Will it launch on time? Will devs keep pushing back or cancelling titles? Will People dish out 600 dollars after the fanatics buy em...
